Wilderness Reserve

Long weekends are one of life’s great pleasures, and there are few places better to spend them than Suffolk’s Wilderness Reserve. A two-hour train ride from London, the Reserve houses Sibton Park, an 1827 house built by the former Sheriff of Suffolk, along with several delightful cottages which are perfect for a group weekend getaway. If you’ve had your fill of packed London fireworks displays, the Reserve’s Bonfire Night Winter Retreat includes a three-night stay for eight people in the estate’s 19th-century Cartshed (no prizes for guessing what it was in a former life). As well as lots of time to hang out on the estate and make use of their Pashley bicycles and rowing boats, your stay includes a three-course meal prepared on Saturday night by your very own chef, along with entry to local Heveningham Hall’s fireworks display.
