V&A Reveal Festival

It seems only right that Exhibition Road should host its own show from time to time, so we’re excited to see Tomás Saraceno’s spectacular Aerocene floating sculptures—activated only by the heat of the sun—floating through the South Kensington street next week as part of the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Reveal festival. Created to mark the opening of the museum’s many new spaces in their Exhibition Road Quarter, the week-long festival comprises a spectacular series of events and festivities. Highlights include the new all-porcelain Sackler Courtyard, which will be lit up at night as artists Ron Arad, Zandra Rhodes, Jonathan Barnbrook, Greenaway & Greenaway, Toru Ishii and Leyla Reynolds “draw with light”, while the new Sainsbury Gallery will host immersive light and sound installations, with plenty of music, dance and performance thrown in. Collaborations with their South Kensington neighbours means we can expect a march from the Royal Albert Hall’s Albert Band and wearable tech demos from the Imperial College scientists in the mix, too.
