The Wigmore

In the world of luxury dining and entertainment, it’s not often that you hear owners proclaim from the outset that their establishment is “a place where everyone is welcome”. Such places typically thrive on their exclusivity, impenetrable waiting lists and the excited Instagramming of the lucky few inside. Not The Wigmore. Situated in The Langham hotel but accessible straight off Regent Street, this is the quintessential British tavern, refined with a touch of five-star polish (Martin Brudnizki is responsible for the lovely interiors). The drinks menu has been carefully pulled together by the hotel’s team at Artesian, and there’s a house beer—brewed with Bermondsey’s Brew By Numbers—delicious wines, enough craft beers to delight any millennial and even a house “hoptail”. There are traditional cocktails, too, and food is being overseen by Michel Roux Jr, so expect pub classics with the freshest seasonal ingredients. Worried about its authenticity? There’s a cheese toastie on the menu too, so don’t be.
