Immersive experiences are the Marmite of millennial pastimes. Who hasn’t thrown back a cocktail (or five) while elaborately attired actors try desperately to accelerate the effects of alcohol and conquer our quintessentially British sense of awkwardness? If you’ve written them off as not your thing, we’d recommend the Veuve Clicquot Widow Series as a way to re-enter the fray. For the readily enthused, they’re a smarter version of a format you know and love, and immersive only to the extent that you’re surrounded by performance and art (and not required to get involved). It’s three years since Nick Knight kicked off the series. Last year’s event, curated by FKA Twigs and themed around the zodiac, was completely strange and oddly captivating. This year’s event, curated by Carine Roitfeld, is sure to be the same. The former editor of Vogue Paris, Roitfeld will be joined by her CR Studio team in creating an experience called SEVEN, exploring the Seven Deadly Sins, inspired by Dante’s Purgatorio. Unsurprisingly, there are no warm cocktails or cheap house white here; it’s champagne all the way.
