Caroline Sciamma-Massenet’s experience in the fashion industry is nothing short of first class. Beginning her career as a model, she shot with Peter Lindbergh and Bruce Weber before moving behind the camera and styling for Carine Roitfield at Vogue Paris, as well as producing campaigns for Givenchy, Dior and Louis Vuitton. We knew to take her seriously, then, when she established Skiim earlier this year. Riffing on quintessential French-girl style, Sciamma-Massenet takes her references from art, literature and French cinema, of which La Piscine and Le Mépris are two of her favourites. The resulting debut autumn-winter collection is packed with Parisian classics: plenty of denim and leather—all ethically sourced—plus leopard-print blouses, black patent skirts, suede skinny jeans, and open-back dresses.
