Ora by Heinz Beck

If you’ve been lucky enough to sample Heinz Beck’s fagotelli carbonara, you’ll know that it’s nothing short of exceptional (and justification alone for the three Michelin stars of his restaurant, La Pergola in Rome). For the festive season, Brown’s Hotel has brought the German chef and his bag of delectable treats to Albemarle Street for a six-week “Italian takeover”. While the fagotelli sadly hasn’t come with him, the menu features lots of other treats you won’t want to miss out on: think tagliolini with black salsifies, chives and white truffle from Alba, plus John Dory with curry, red beetroots on a light pesto sauce. If you favour a more liquid kind of refreshment at this time of year, then head along to the Donovan Bar where cocktail maestro Salvatore Calabrese is taking over with his signature dry martinis and negronis, the former of which he famously perfected while at Dukes London.
