Kricket Soho

Until recently, Kricket was probably one of Brixton’s—and perhaps even London’s—best-kept secrets. Buried away in the shipping containers of Pop Brixton, it wasn’t the kind of place you would discover by accident—not that it mattered, since word of mouth made the Indian restaurant a runaway local success. For 2017 chef Will Bowlby and front-of-house man Rik Campbell have brought their delicious array of masterpieces to the centre of town. Setting up on Denman Street, just off Piccadilly, the Soho outpost has a chicer and more refined design aesthetic, but the menu is entirely loyal to its roots. All ingredients are British and sourced locally where possible (the Goan sausage is made in collaboration with Jones the Butcher in Brixton), and the flavours are all completely delicious. Our top tip? The samphire pakoras.
