Imaginary Wish List: Cher

Cher, the septuagenarian Goddess of Pop, is known for her jugular voice and outré penchant for sequins, glitter and very sizeable headpieces. Presiding over a provocative Twitter feed (largely dedicated to taking digs at Donald Trump), she’s still as unapologetically trailblazing as she was in the 1960s, when she launched her solo career with the million-seller “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)”. Singing in Vegas, winning an Oscar, and modelling for Vogue, she’s a sex symbol and an icon, mercurially re-inventing herself in her five-decade-long career. Channeling Cleopatra and bohemian 1970s-style chic, naval-grazing gowns and farms’-worth of feathers, Cher is, declared Time,  a “cultural phenomenon [who] has forever changed the way we see celebrity fashion”. So, starting with a glittering red dress, here’s what we imagine she might like for Christmas.
