Human Flow by Ai Weiwei

Human Flow, the new documentary by dissident Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, has already been called an “urgent, deep soak in the current refugee crisis” by The Guardian, and we can expect more column inches dedicated to the film before it arrives in cinemas in December. A screening of the movie followed by a Q&A between the artist and Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow at the Milton Court Concert Hall on December 4 has already sold out, but those keen to hear the discussion can watch it live from over 200 cinemas around the UK. The event forms part of the Barbican Cinema programme, which as well as screening blockbuster hits also showcases some of the lesser-known gems from the international film circuit. Highlights next week include the UK premiere of Wall, the debut documentary feature by Israeli independent director Moran Ifergan, as well as a screening of the newly restored Italian horror film Suspiria, followed by a discussion with director Dario Argento.
