The calendar for the art world’s travelling circus is fairly relentless: so far the month of May has seen Frieze New York and the Venice Biennale, with Photo London following hot on its heels. As is the case with these art fairs, some of the hottest action is taking place in the halo of the main event. For example, over this weekend, Dover Street Market is laying on a mini-fair of its own. Highlights include: a Juergen Teller mini-shop with exclusive posters, bags and books; swimwear by Paul Smith designed in collaboration with photographer Martin Parr; T-shirts featuring Richardson prints from Magnum Photos; Fornasetti x CDG furniture; Robert Mapplethorpe prints produced on Raf Simons T-shirts; and best of all, The Museum Shop, where five emerging photographers have been asked to respond to the National Portrait Gallery collection and building, with resulting museum merchandise on sale. We do recommend you head down to Somerset House to see the main event too—and in particular, Mat Collishaw’s spectacular VR exhibition, Thresholds, which runs until June 11.
