Where Darius Namdar goes, success follows. After quitting a career in finance to re-train in hospitality, Namdar started as assistant maître d’hôtel of The Wolseley, before he was poached by Chiltern Firehouse as their head maître d’. After establishing the Marylebone property as London’s celebrity haunt of choice, he decamped to open the Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair before arriving at Mark’s Club as director in 2015. The year marked a watershed in the Club’s history, with the interiors lightly refurbished by designer Tino Zervudachi and Namdar gently overseeing an update in service and membership. He has been chief architect of the Club’s changing personnel. Thanks to an attractive under 35s weekend membership, the crowd is cooler than ever. Given Namdar’s enviable address book and flawless CV—which also includes being one of only 30 in the world to hold the prestigious accolade of Master of Havana Cigars—we wouldn’t expect anything less.
