If you haven’t heard of fashion designer Michael Cinco, chances are you’ll have seen his work. His sparkling couture designs have been worn on the red carpet by Jennifer Lopez and in music videos by Beyoncé, which should tell you something of their show-stopping credentials. The Dubai-based Filipino designer is one of the first designers to come on board for Couturissimo, a project created by the Asian Couture Federation to build a bridge between couture and ready-to-wear. The idea is to provide couture-level techniques and expertise and ready-to-wear prices, with Cinco joined by a few other brands including French couturier On Aura Tout Vu. The latter serve as creative directors for the Couturissimo collections, and given their credentials creating accessories, embroideries and buttons for the likes of Christian Dior, Givenchy and Nina Ricci, you can be sure that you are in safe hands.
