Cos x Serpentine Park Nights 2017

Museums and galleries are no longer just spaces for reverential daytime contemplation and intellectual reverie. They’re now places to hang out after dark, and one gallery that has been doing that brilliantly for some years now is The Serpentine with their Park Nights programme. Produced in collaboration with Cos, the fashion insider’s everyday atelier, these Friday night events through the summer months showcase international talents from the fields of art, dance, film and technology, with highlights including a reading and performance by artist Eleanor Antin, who’s one-woman shows have been seen at New York’s Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum. These performances and installations take place inside this year’s pavilion designed by Francis Kéré; inspired by a tree in his home town of Gando in Burkina Faso, the design mimics the shape of a tree canopy, with an oculus funnelling the inevitable British rainfall into a beautiful waterfall.
