We’ve been in love with Asceno’s fresh, vibrant swimwear and pyjamas for a while now—their crisp lines and effortless, vibrant prints call to mind classic Mediterranean style of the 1950s and ‘60s, and it’s difficult not to imagine a young Brigitte Bardot sporting them whilst draping herself across a sun lounger in Saint-Tropez. The brand was conceived by creative directors Poppy Sexton-Wainwright and Lauren Skerritt, and is a conjunction of their mothers’ maiden names. Now they’ve brought Asceno to Selfridges, where the range is newly available just in time for the weather to heat up, the days to get longer and the evenings to turn balmy. Find a pair of silk culottes or a swimsuit (our pick has to be any of the v-neck one-pieces) and a floppy hat, and head south.
