Over the years, Chatsworth House’s reputation as one of England’s finest stately homes has only been compounded by its appearance in countless period dramas (Pride and Prejudice, The Duchess, Death Comes to Pemberley, to name a few). Last year, more than 640,000 people visited the estate in the heart of the Peak District, and this year’s figures will no doubt be higher thanks to the excellent fashion exhibition House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion at Chatsworth. If you’re yet to visit, why not go in late September and time your visit to coincide with Art Out Loud? Now in its third edition, this festival of talks by artists, curators and writers is being given a fashion twist in light of the House exhibition. So, as well as interviews with artists Grayson Perry, Marc Quinn, Phyllida Barlow, Yinka Shonibare and Cornelia Parker, there is also stage time for Christopher Kane and Erdem Moralioglu.
