Anatomy of a Suicide

Put three generations of women in one room and you’d expect conflict of some sort: put them on stage you can expect fireworks. Anatomy of a Suicide opening tomorrow at Sloane Square’s Royal Court Theatre, features three said generations for whom “the chaos of what has come before brings with it a painful legacy”. It is the latest offering from playwright Alice Birch, whose work has previously been staged by the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2016, Birch was named as one of the Creative England 50, a list of the boldest and brightest creative minds in the country, and for Anatomy she is reunited again with director Katie Mitchell, with whom she collaborated on last year’s Ophelia’s Zimmer.
